Discussion:
Out of sync - How to resyncronize?

Hi,

I don't know, if this is a topic for this ml. If not, I would appreciate
any hint for a better place to go to.

msynctool worked fine for some month, but once upon a time I had a
failure and now some entry are out of sync.

Slow-sync failed because of segmentation fault, so I decided to delete
and recreate a partnership. Maybe this was a bad idea, but it worked,
that means msynctool is running fine and even without errors. But some
entries are still out of sync.

How can I solved this issue?

Regards,
Roland

Correct: How can I solve this issue?

I forgot to mention:
- Ubuntu 10.04
- OpenSync 0.22
- O2 XDA Orbit with Windows Mobile 6

not the answer you want, but... when this happens to me I use
slow-sync :) maybe you should look into the segfault more?

Your mouse has moved. Windows NT must be restarted for the change
to take effect. Reboot now? [ OK ]

To diagnose a segfault you need to run msynctool in gdb, and get a
backtrace.

In regard to the unsynced items, which way don't they sync, provide more
details.

I got sync working again (while having lot of objects not synchronized
of course), therefore I would do some tests, if I can save the current
situation. Does copying ~/.synce and ~/.evolution archieve this goal?

In both directions. That means, I added and changed some objects within
evolution and pda. Then I tried to sync (as usual), however the pda
locked during synchronization and next sync required a slow sync, which
failed with segmentation fault.

Unfortunately, msynctool run out of sync again, therefore it trys to
slow-sync, which is still failing with seg faults.
